Is there much bleeding after a rhinoplasty?

Rhinoplasty, commonly known as a nose job, is one of the most popular cosmetic surgeries requested. Modern surgical techniques and stringent safety protocols insure a is a high degree of patient comfort and aesthetic success are achieved when best practices are followed. In rare situations some patients may have conditions that could cause them to bleed more than is considered normal during surgery or cause vomiting afterwards. I take extra care in screening all patients prior to treatment to ensure no unexpected conditions could cause complications during or after surgery though a mitigation of factors. In addition, during surgery I avoid active bleeding by using techniques such as minimal degloving of structures, use of electrocauterization as needed, controlled fracturing of nose bones, and gently but firmly packing of the nose at surgery completion. Active post operative monitoring reduces discomfort and complications. Upon awakening and in the days and weeks to follow, I am personally in touch with all my patients to make sure they are healing well and looking better every day. My success is only achieved when I see my patients healthy, happy and satisfied with their new and improved look!
